Question
I am a 31 YO female who has severe problems with my feet. It doesn't matter what I am doing but if I am on my feet for more than...let's say an hour, my heels and arches start to hurt pretty bad. Especially my heels. The longer I am on my feet, when I sit down and stand back up, they hurt so bad I get tears in my eyes. I get sharp, shooting pains in my heels. I recently quit a bartending job because of my feet. If I worked for 3+ hours the next day I could barely walk because my heels hurt so much.

I have tried all the heel cushions and insoles that are currently on the market. None have helped. I do however, wish I had stock in Dr. Shoels (or however you spell it) because I would have made myself a wealthy woman.

Any info you may have that could possibly help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

Angie

Hello Angie

OW, been there! The solution is not those foot inserts they sell in the stores. The solution is to go on the internet and find plastic arch supports. Your arch muscles are not getting any support, so they ache.

Next, exercise. You need to get your blood circulation UP in your legs. You can do this by doing The Step. When you wake up, and before you go to bed. I bought a concrete block from Home Depot, and with shoes, use it. Works just as well at The Step sold in stores.

I step up with my left foot, then up with my right foot. Down with my left foot, down with my right foot. I then pause. I resume by stepping up with my left foot, etc. After 10 steps up, I stop, resume with my RIGHT foot. This keeps the leg muscles from getting tired to fast.

I do 50 in the morning, 50 at night. You need only start out slowly, work your way UP to 50 and 50. OK?

When you lie in bed, stretch your feet and leg muscles before you go to sleep. Do 1-3 times.

Stretch them by tightening them up, then relaxing them. Pushing your toes forward.

In the kitchen, stand at the counter top, hands on the counter top for balance. Squat down and up slowly. Do 10 times. Do every day. I do mine at breakfast, then again at lunch at work. Works wonders...

Same counter top. Hands on edge of counter top. Put one leg back, foot on the floor. Bend the other knee. Push your body forward with your foot set back. Push against the foot with your arms on the counter top. Push as hard as you can. FEEL your calf muscle stretch. Do 10 times, then do the other foot. Again, amazing wonders...

I also do this at work. Really relieves the stress of the day. Looks nuts, but who cares? I am without pain.

Forget all the foot supplements, powders, creams. You need stretched muscles and good circulation. And support for your arches. They no longer make arch supports in shoes, so that is why Dr. Scholls is making a fortune.

Now, write again if you would like and we can discuss further exercises you can do to make yourself stronger and healthier.

Hope you feel better!
