How can dancing with a broken shank and/or arch that has been duck taped relate to injuries of the ankle?

If you have an unstable foot arch with damage, the pressure and shock in the foot from the ground will transfer to the next large joint.  So the ankle will take added stress since the foot is not functioning properely.

Obviously, this can cause damage to the ankle and even with duct tape there is continued damage to the foot.

You may want to see a Podiatrist to see if there are other options to stabilize the foot.
