Dr.Katz,

This morning I awoke with a very sharp pain localized on the
top of my left foot directly above the ball of my foot.
It is stinging and sharp pain that comes and goes.
I am a bit overwight,6' 1" height and 254 lbs. and I do take Lotrel for high blood pressure. I have notice also
swelling in my feet and ankles at times.
I would appreciate your advice.

Hi David,

How long have you been on blood pressure meds?  Any changes or new doses?  What activities do you do daily?  Do you have any confirmed circulation problems?

Any family history of Diabetes, autoimmune disease or Gout?

Is there swelling around the large toe joint?

Any recent blood tests?

Lets start here and see if we can come up with a solution.
