QuestionI took my daughter Yutika to the beach on saturday in NJ she bent down in the shallow water to pick up a clam shell but as she stood up she felt a stinging pain on her foot and she found it hard to walk. There was no swelling or bite mark all she complained was a pain and cld not walk. I applied ice . But the next day while applying mineral ice i noticed there was a swelling on the outer edge of her foot and i cld feel a lump on the bottom and side fo her foot which is blue in color. she has no fever no lack of appatite but finds it hard to wald it is very painful. she sleeps fine i am confused.

AnswerI would see a Podiatrist ASAP. Since the foot is swollen painful and has a blue lump, I would be concerned. This could be a bite form some type of marine animal or a piece of shell in the foot. These can be serious and can result in tissue loss or infection.
I would not wait.
