QuestionI was in auto accident 1 1/2 years ago and suffered a fractured foot. I was in a cast for approx. 2 months then in an air boot for several weeks. I am still having problems with this foot hurting on the top part when I am on my feet a lot and do a lot of walking. I am starting back to work after several surgeries (not on foot) and my foot is still hurting badly. What should I do? I am goin got be checked for nerve damage, but is there any thing else it could be? Thanks for your advice.
AnswerHi Debbie,
After a foot injury and casting you will end up walking differently and will develop weak muscles. I would consider physical therapy. I would see a Podiatrist for evaluation to make sure all was healed properely. I would also consider custom arch supports.
Nerve damage is also a common occurence. I often treat foot pain and nerve injury with a procedure known as Cryosurgery. See my site below.
