Question
I have severe pain on outside of my foot with swelling and it hurts where you imagine on right foot taking your hand with thumb under foot and fingers on top(right hand , right foot) and placing them there. Pain is so bad is untouchable. Now on left foot a big knot in same area with severe pain! I am on a 2 day a week work schedule PT but I have been picking up shifts and working up to 4 to 6 days a week for past 3 to 4 weeks. It is getting so bad after 2 hrs I can barely walk and I am on my feet all shift.
I have just lost insurance. So am checking into getting some where I am at. Any help to what will help my symptoms till then? I am on pain pills. Mild, nothing is helping. Also I have been trying ice and my husband has been trying massage gently. He says he feels tendon over each foot at same area.

Hi Dennise,

It sounds like you are doing many of the helpful treatments for your foot pain.  I would consider an anti-inflammatory medicine like Advil if you can tolerate that medication.  Also, would consider some type of over the counter arch support.

The best option would be to see a Podiatrist for an x-ray to make sure there is no fracture or something more serious.
