Question
3 years ago I noticed a tingling at the bottom of my foot that seems to from the arch to the toes when I am driving. When I am not driving, it is only in my toes. About a yr. later my back went out. After much therapy my back seems to be fine, but the tingling in my right foot continues. I've gone to several doctors, but no one seems to know what is wrong. They are not sure if its sciatica from my back or not. Iv been to 2 different podiatrist, a surgeon for backs and hips, and 2 different Chiropractors. I'v noticed also a popping around my ankle. I am 60 years old, and other than this problem,in excellant shape. Can this be fixed, or do I have to just live with this. Its getting harder and harder for me to drive with the strong tingling in the bottom of my foot. Any advise?

Answer
Hi Pat,

If you have tingling in the toes there must be a damaged or entrapped nerve in the foot or ankle.  You could also have a condition known as Morton's neuroma.  You should be able to find a podiatrist that can locate the source of your pain.  This is typically done by putting small amounts of anesthetic around nerve branches to locate the source.  You may need to find a podiatrist that does cryosurgery to see if they can locate the nerve.

I would not give up.
