QuestionMy 5 yr old son recently lost his big toe and nearly all of the second toe. The surgeon said that we'll have to watch for the other remaining toes to see if they start migrating over and filling the void. I was wondering if there is an insert or filler for a shoe that can prevent this from happening.
And where would I find something like this.
Thanks,
AnswerHi Jim,
When there is toe loss, a foot filler is recommended. Since the large toe is missing the other toes may drift. I would see a podiatrist for a foot insert that incorporates a filler. The orthotic will also help place the foot in a better position and allow for better foot function.
Good Luck.
