Question
Hello Dr.Katz,
about 6 weeks ago I had ORIF surgery on my right calcaneous. I haven't had any pain since the surgery, and have great up and down motion, and ok side to side. What is the recovery rate for this type of injury, and can you make 100% comeback

Answer
Hi Vincent,

You are already ahead of the game if you have done so well at this point.  Yes you can have full recovery but I would suggest seeing a physical therapist to assist with muscle strengthening and range of motion.  I would also consider seeing a podiatrist for orthotic devices to help maintain your foot stability.

Sincerely,

Marc Katz, DPM
