QuestionFor the past week, I've been experiencing deep pain in my foot below the scar site of a neuroma removal. It feels bruised really deep but there is no bruising outwardly. Sometimes, the pain radiates up through my ankle. I can't put my full weight on the foot without experiencing really bad pain. I've only been out of my boot following the surgery for about a week and a half. I am supposed to start physical therapy next week and don't know if I should. What could this be?
AnswerI really think you should return to the surgeon who did the surgery and describe your pain and concern. The doctor should be empathetic and listen. It may be just the course of healing--which can take 3-6 weeks after the surgery you described. If it is something else-then he has a chance to address the issue and give you a better explanation than me.
REMEMBER--It's about YOU-not the doctor.
Don't let the therapist give you a diagnosis---go back to the doctor-
The doctor is obligated to follow this through until discharge.
Please don't wait and call for a follow up appointment-you will feel better!
Hope this helps
