QuestionWhen I do a fast walk, my right foot starts a burning sensation on the ball of my foot. Can you tell me what is causing this. I have switched the type of socks I wear and my shoes are not laced too tight.
AnswerHi Joanne,
The pain in your foot may be nerve related and is common in runners and fast walkers. In some cases this may be a neuroma or other type of inflamed nerve. You may consider changing shoes, custom orthotic devices and injections. A podiatrist can help you with this pain. If the pain persists even with treatment, I would consider cryosurgery.
