QuestionWhenever I go on long walks, after about 3 miles, my little toes on both feet start hurting. They are sliding under the 4th toe and being stepped on with each step. The bottom of the little toes is all white - deadened flesh, almost like a blister. I've tried using shoes that are very wide in the front toe area, but to no avail. I also tried putting tape around the little toe to keep it apart from the 4th toe, but still have the problem. Is there a name for this type of problem and are there any non-surgical solutions?
Thank you!
AnswerIf it slides under without shoes-then surgical correction is the option of choice. Find a good podiatrist.
If it slides only with shoes-then you can try a buttress pad. It is a special pad with a loop that goes around the affected toe. You can look at our online store at Thinkfeet.com.
