Question
Is it typical to continue to have sporadic increases in pain 6 weeks post op a modified kidner. I was NWB three weeks. I have been in a boot for almost three weeks. Two weeks ago, I returned to my 47 hr work week. At times, the pain is minimal and then out of no where the pain gets bad enough by the incision site and my arch area that I have to remove my boot and just ice and return to my crutches.

Answer
Hi Amy,

I have found that patients need physical therapy after a Kidner procedure.  This will help strengthen the foot and ankle.  You may have periods of pain sporadically for 6 months to one year.  I would also recommend orthotic devices.
