Question
My arches fell from standing on cement. My shoe size went from 9&1/2 D to 11&1/2 EEE. Doctor tried the simplest treatment first (Shots Left Foot), next the Plantar Fasciitis? surgery then the full tendon release (severed the tendon completely I guess).
Nothing has helped much, although the full release has reduced the pain somewhat. The full release surgery was July 12. Is the pain a lifetime thing? Will I ever be able to Jog or walk normal without the intense pain? I am 68 years old, a date has not been set for surgery on the right foot.

Hi Dennis,

I did not see treatment with orthotic devices or AFO (ankle foot orthoses).  These should be tried prior to surgery and certainly used after surgery to stabilize the foot and ankle. If you still have pain I would and have not tried some of these more conservative devices, I would seek another opinion.
