QuestionCan a person who often stands in a bath tub with water that is too hot to bath in, but stands there in the water until it cools down, do nerve damage? After years of this, their right foot is now numb, painful, and the right leg sometimes has a palsy or "dragging", "tripping" condition to it.
AnswerThis Chicago & Elmhurst Podiatrist says.......
Dear Ed,
Usually these kinds of foot problems are brought on by pressure on the nerve going to the affected area.Perhaps arthritis of the knee or back can put pressure on the nerve that goes to the area. Usually the warm water will not cause nerve damage-unless scalding.
Go see a Board Certified Podiatrist on Orthopedics-they should be able to diagnose your condition
Please don't wait until symptoms become worse.
Hope This Helps
Good Luck!
