Question
My big toe nail will not grow anymore, it hurt for awhile and was swollen at the cuticle area, there's still a lump there but no longer swollen or sore an dsince then it has not grown, I'm not sure how long it's been like that. My toenail feels weird when pressure from certain shoes press onto it. Is there any way the nail could grow backwards instead of forward? I did jam my toe against the step without shoes on and since then it hasnt grown or been the same.

HI Jennifer,

You probably damaged the growth are of the nail.  This could stop the growth long-term or temporarily.  It is also possible that you have developed a secondary fungal infection.  I would see a podiatrist for an exam and treatment options.  I have been having good success using a laser on damaged infected nails.  See my site www.vibranttampatoenails.com
