Pain in Right Foot at Night

Question
I have had a sharp pain in my foot at night occasionally for the last couple of months usually in my big toe, but sometimes in the middle of my foot as well. Last night it literally woke me up out of my sleep. I felt like my foot exploded. It was sore and I felt little mini tremors for the rest of the night. I made a doctors appt but wanted to get an idea of what this maybe. There was no redness or swelling that I could tell. Thanks in advance

Answer
Hi Michael,

This could be an injured nerve in your foot that can be from shoe pressure or a new shoe.  In some cases, this could be gout and your doctor may consider checking you for this condition.

Good Luck
