Question
Recently, the balls of both feet have started hurting/burning.  It feels like bone spurs.  Any idea what this could be?  I read something about Morton抯 neuroma, which sounds as if it could be that.  What kind of doctor should I see?  Thank you.

Answer
Dear Lisa,

For the balls of your feet having a burning sensation (known as metatarsalgia or neuralgia)...
Diabetes, certain medications, increased standing, age & weight, and other influencing factors can produce burning of the balls of the feet. Morton's neuroma causes tingling similar to hitting your funny bone and is usually aggravated by shoes & feels better after the shoe is removed & the ball of the foot is rubbed/massaged. See our website at AnkleNFootcenters.com for additional explanations of metatarsalgia.
A Board Certified Podiatrist would be the one one to see for diagnosis & treatment.
Hope This Helps!

Good Luck!
