Question
For years or for as long as I can remember, the toenails on both of my big toes get a gray discoloration. I can scrape it off with a file and it looks white and healthy again. It's not dirt because it doesn't wash off and none of the other toes have this. Do you know what causes this? Thanks

Answer
Dear Lee,

The toenail discoloration may be topical onychomycosis or toenail fungus. There are different types & ways to infect. Some infect the top of the toenail & others infect under the toenail plate. For more info go to http://anklenfoot.com/NailFungus/tabid/143/Default.aspx
Good Luck!
