Question
I don't know the name of the bone, but it's my right foot and on the right side that bone sticking out. I hurt it 2 days ago. My friend was on my back and someone jumped on her back and I fell. I don't know if I rolled my ankle or what, but as soon as I fell there was instant pain. That bone is swollen a little and there's a little lump under it. I can walk on it, but there is pain. When I try to flex my foot down there is also pain. I don't know if it's just sore or actually hurt. What should I do?

Answer
Dear Nikki,

This Orthopedic Chicago Podiatrist located in West Loop 60661,Roscoe Village 60618, Elmhurst 60126 & Bartlett 60103 says...
Protect the area (5th metatarsal base) with an ace wrap or similar. Icing is good for the first three days. Try to wear a gym shoe. If it hurts with the wrap & gym shoe, gets worse, or does not continue to improve-seek advice from a podiatrist.
Hope this helps & Good Luck!
