Question
I had a successful flat foot reconstruction surgery 4 years ago.  I now have a spur on top of my foot in the area of the cotton osteotomy screw. The screw is not elevated. I am developing ulcers on the skin due to the raised area rubbing.  I wear quality supportive and we'll fitting shoes. Spur removal was recommended. What are the pros and cons of this surgery?

Answer
Dear Roxy,

This Orthopedic Chicago Podiatrist located in West Loop 60661,Roscoe Village 60618, Ukranian Village 60622, Elmhurst 60126 & Bartlett 60103 says...
For your dorsal foot spur-The pros are that it is easily reached & the screw may also be removed if necessary. Also you are doing this to heal a wound. The cons are that it is a surgery & there are always risks(usually low-depending on your health). The dorsal foot spur may come back. The wound may heal with different shoes
Hope this helps & Good Luck!
