im 82 and have  diabetes.my  last tetanus  shot was 3 momths less then 5 years may 2016 wlll be 5 years since last tetanus   went barefoot 2 of my toes  stepped on carpet tacks I did not see any  blood.next norming moticed snall looked like paper cut ine 1/4 inch,soaped it with bacteria soap next morning and put neo-sporin. 2 days passed no pain or swelling /just paper like  cut small l line 1,4 inch no redness or paid,concerned aboit cellitius and tetanus,the tacks were not under the carpet just  it was wooden stick eith nais syicking up nothing over nail  bed,after 2  days   j bavs a small line 1/4 incf not swooleh or warm.how long will symtons of celliutis start showing upis diabetics with celliutis in big toe hard to cure

It usually takes 24-48 hours for an infection to show. That said-it could take a few more days if low grade & gently festering-would probably see signs some signs-redness, warmth, swelling, and pain (but not with neuropathies.
