Question
I recently had a mylegram. It reads: Right-sided scar, disc tissue or a combination there of causes effacement and displacement of the thecal sac at L5-S1 level. Can this be the cause of my severe sciatic pain? I had spinal surgery 4 years ago for a lesion on my right sciatic nerve. The removed 2 vertebrae that were pressed against the sciatic nerve. Now the pain in my left hip and leg is worse than it was in the right before my surgery. My Dr is not giving me any answers except there is nothing he can do. I can't live with this severe pain.

Answer
You are exactly right in that this is the most likely cause of your sciatic pain, with the information given.

With your current situation it would be a good idea to get evaluated by an Upper Cervical Doctor. To find one near you try this website www.uppercervicalcare.com or www.kcucs.org.
