Question
Dear Grayson.Thank you in advance for your kind service.and am sorry for this long letter. For over a year i have been experiencing angina type pains only on exertion.I had an ecg in febuary and a stress test, but unfortunately the chest pain did not occur on the test,so i was still none the wiser  if this was angina or not.Anyway,as they took the straps off me,i stood up and as i did i got this ache in the centre of my chest.like a fist size. They did two more ecgs which were fine.Anyhow, since then ive had this constant chest pain,it progressed to my thoracic back/inbetween shoulderblades, and its across my upper chest, and also upper back,up to my neck/shoulders/base of skull, and it is constant.I also have for the last 8wks got a dialated left pupil which is permanant. The doctor did say it did react when she looked at it,but it doesnt any other time.I cant walk up hills/exert myself because the pain gets too much, not in the neck but the chest/shoulderblades and down my left arm.it abates back to the normal pain i have as i rest.I am a 39yr old female.petite.not over weight. My blood pressure is fine, colesterol fine, was tested for thyroid and that was fine.Have had two chest xrays ,thoracic spine xray, mri of the cervical spine.all came back ok.See a musculoskeletal specialist,he said it wasnt that,he referred me back to the cardiologist, who doesnt seem to think its heart related, and he has referred me to an othomologist.I have had a constant migraine now for the last two weeks, and the base of my skull and either side of the back of my neck are constantly painful,im also having pain above my dialated eye and pain at the back of my right eye,but not all the time.I would appreciate any feedback, many thanks Sue

Answer
Sue,

Thank you for your question.

To begin it sounds as though you have had long standing problems that have caught up with you. It often takes years of having body imbalance before the first symptoms start to appear. Usually people will have had an injury at a minimum of 10-15 years before they start having symptoms. It sounds as though you have musculoskeletal complaints and some finding for brainstem dysfunction.

My feedback from the information given would be to find an Upper Cervical Doctor and get an assessment. Body imbalance will result from head and neck misalignment then fast forward about 10-15 years and you now have neck and back pain showing up. Also head and neck misalignment will result in a torque pressure to the brainstem and or upper spinal cord which can disrupt the blood supply in this area creating cranial nerve dysfunction. (as a side note I recently had a woman come in who had lost her sense of smell and taste[cranial nerves 1 and 7] and was coming in for knee pain. When her head and neck misalignment was corrected within 48 hours her smell and taste began to come back with in 3 months it was fully functioning again and her body imbalance was also corrected over time and the knee pain went away as the her body healed.)

The best website to find an Upper Cervical Doctor at this time is www.uppercervicalcare.com. Thank you for your question.
