Question
thanks for the information it makes sense.

but how can subluxations be put right with massage or exercises?

and also if its so easy to get 1 arnt they likly to return again especially after being injured?

Answer
Dear Bei,

Thank you for your follow-up question.

Unfortunately, I believe there may be some misunderstanding from my initial response.  I'll ask you to review that and see if that helps, but understand that I did not state or imply that massage or exercise were methods of correcting vertebral subluxations.  The term I used, adjustment, is quite a specific term of art in non-therapeutic straight chiropractic.  If you re-read the initial response you will find the term adjustment there.  The information provided there will answer your question about how vertebral subluxations are corrected.

As far as vertebral subluxations being recurrent, because they may be caused by so many different stress factors and the resistance of the body to these stress factors is dependent upon a wide variety of variables, with damage from injury being certainly among them, it is possible that injury may make one more vulnerable to stresses with a possible result being vertebral subluxation.

I hope this helps clarify things, Bei.  Thanks, again.

Sincerely,
James W. Healey, DC
