Question
QUESTION: what does "marked reversal of the upper cervical lordosis and narrowing of c4-5 disc space with spondylosis and facet arthropathy with cervicothoratic dextroscoliosis" mean

ANSWER: Hello, Sean, and thank you for writing.

This means someone looked at an image of some sort of your upper spine and interpreted what they saw as a backward curve of your neck, a thinned spinal disc between the 4th and 5th bones of your neck, spinal joint degeneration and a right-hand curve of the spine from the lower part of your neck down to between your shoulder blades.

I hope this helps your understanding.

Sincerely,
James W. Healey, DC

QUESTION: thank you,it did ...
now i have two more that i would like you to translate for me as well. One for the middle and one for my lower parts of my back. The middle one goes as follows.

"mid thoracic dextroscoliosis and narrowing of multiple thoracic disc spaces with spondylosis"

and the lower says
"lower lumbar facet arthropathy and levorotoscoliosis in a lower lumbar region with congenital incomplete fusion of the posterior elements at L5 level"
????????????????????????????????????????????
and thank you

Answer
Hello, again, Sean.

These two are very similar.  The first refers to your mid-back, the second to your lower back.  Again, they are one person's interpretations of imaging of these areas.

Both mean the person saw thinned disks and spinal degeneration in the areas.  The first means the person also saw a right-hand curve of the spine.  The second means they saw a left-hand curve with some rotation, as well, of the spinal bones and a situation where some of the rear ring-like formation of the last bone in the small of your back did not form a complete ring around the spinal cord structures.

Glad you found the "translation" helpful.

Sincerely,
James W. Healey, DC
