Question
Hi doctor

I have a dull feeling in my right buttock when sit in a chair. the symptoms include low back pain, burning, warm feeling(when i touch it its really warm), gluteal crease discomfort, the bone in my right butt near the thigh- im not sure if this is called ischium. upper posterior thigh discomfort, a mild weakness of the calf, a sharp pain and in the heel of my foot and sometimes it travels to the forefoot. when i walk my right foot is felt weak.

i went to a rehab doctor and examine me and ruled out radiculopathy/sciatica because of the test she used to me. i can move my thigh and do exercise and no pain. but when i sit my right buttocks, upper posterior thigh bother me. sometimes there is a burning feeling on my lower back to the both buttocks.

what is the best treatment/rehab you can advice.

Thank you for your time

Dear Jason,

The symptoms you describe may be related to Ischial bursitis, but they might be radicular in origin, and many times the two entities are difficult to tell apart.
I would do a CT scan or an MRI, to make sure the pain is not the result of a herniated disc, especially since you mention that the pain radiates down your entire leg.

Sincerely,

Dr. Rahamimov
