hi dr i have afriend cmplains of a severe pain in his arm and numbness in his fingers ,he was diagnosed with extra neck
ribs . Blease tell us what can he do in this case ? .could he make surgery?. thank you in advance

If I understand your question correctly, your friend has bone spurs on the vertebra in his neck.  These bone spurs can press on nearby nerves and cause pain elsewhere in the body, like the arms and hands.  

Many times, the pain is handled with medications.  The possibility of correcting the problem with surgery needs to be discussed with your friend's doctor.  He has all the X-rays and other important information that I don't have so he can make the best decision about surgery.
