QuestionI am suffering from chronic back & Leg pain for the past 15 days. I have gone throug all blood tests and they are normal, however my MRI says "Degenrative changes in vertebrae & disc. No fracture or dislocation is noted. At the level of L4/L5 there is a broad based posterior disc protrusion, hypertrophied ligamentation flavum togather causing marked pressure on thecal sac & Neuronal compression in both lateral recess, predominantly on right side. Bulging annulus posteriorly at L3/L4 causing indentation on thecal sac & exiting nerve. " I also have sometimes a tingling / numbness in hands and feet and a burning like sensation in legs. I dont want to undergo surgery as some ppl says that only complete cure for this is surgery,Kindly reply and help. Thanks
AnswerDear Muhammad,
Spinal Decompression Toronto patients share your symptoms of chronic back and leg pain.
I am so sorry to hear of your painful state.
Your MRI findings are extremely suggestive that your back and leg pain may likely be due to the broad based posterior disc protrusion causing nerve irritation. Please go to Back Clinics of Canada web-site at www.backclinics.ca to learn about the relationship between disc protrusion (bulge/herniation) and back as well as leg pain.
I share your apprehension with surgery. Sometimes surgery is inevitable however I suggest that you find a clinic which offers non-surgical spinal decompression along with class 4 laser. Clinical results are very impressive, and is long lasting and don't carry dangerous side effects like those found with surgery.
It's hard for me to comment on your tingling and numbness in your hands without more diagnostic information.
I am excited at the possibility of wonderful success with non-surgical spinal decompression.
Please keep me posted with this case Muhammad.
Can you please take a moment out to rate my answer and consider to nominate me as expert of the month.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery Muhammad,
Dr. Ron Nusbaum
