QuestionI have a constant painful feeling to the left of my spine in the mid-back area. If someone touches me in this area, I just about go through the ceiling. It is like a painful tickle to the limit of tolerance. I always have a tight/tense sensation in that area at all times. A painful burning feeling if I stand too long. It feels like a nerve problem, or maybe a muscle?
AnswerHi! It does sound like it could be neuropathic pain. I have neuropathic pain in my hands and wrists and my right leg, to name a few places, and to me it feels like a cold burning feeling. Like someone is rubbing a frozen cheese grater on my skin. That's the best way to describe it to someone so they get the full effect. Is this the feeling you have? Most people who have it agree with this. If so, you need to see a spinal cord/Neurologist Doctor and get some Neurontin prescribed. This is a med for stopping seizures, but it also helps neuropathic pain. This may be what it is, but I'd see a doctor about it anyhow.
Feel free to email me with any other questions. Take care.
goodluck.
