Question
if from a motorcycle accident, someone has lost feeling and movement in right leg and arm.
Has got feeling and movement in left arm
but only movement in left leg with no feeling. where in the spinal column could a possible injury stem from? and would this have anything to do with the decussation of the nerves?

Thanks so much for your question.

It is very hard for me to pin point where the damage might be because the spinal cord is very complex. Unless there was a specific trauma to the spinal cord itself, the accident could have caused nerve damage in several different places.

Even with an MRI, a doctor may still have difficulty locating the injured nerves because injuries to the back are not always so obvious.
