Question
Hi John,
I am writting this for my brother. He has been a Quad for seven years. He has a big problem with getting too hot and too cold. He wakes his aide up at night and we lose a lot of aides because they get sleep deprived as does my brother. How do you reguate you body temp? This seems to be our biggest problem right now.
thanks, Tina

Answer
Hi Tina,
Thanks so much for your question.

Unfortunately, spinal cord injuries (SCI) have a difficult time with temperature fluctuation. I, myself, have problems periodically with my temp dropping into 93-94 degree range and then it will increase to around 100.

I was given a remote controled vertical fan which has various settings and also a timer that can be set from 30 minutes - 7 hours to turn itself off. It is a Black & Decker model.

I have found this to be of great help and comfort to me. My family does not have to get up at night as much with me now.

I am sorry I was not able to be more helpful. If you have anymore questions, please don't hesitate to ask me anytime.

Thanks again,
John McKinzie
