Questionat the top of my lower back, between two vertebrae on my spine it is really sore. this started about 2 month ago and has very gradually gotten more painful. there is no noticeable inflammation and i did not do anything to injure myself. it hurts in the morning (just a little stiff i guess) and when i do exercises that require lying on the back and then rolling (like sit-ups). it feels like a bad bruise but it hasn't gone away. it only hurts when it is being aggravated, not a constant shooting pain. and it's not the actual bones, it's between the bones, i guess the disc??
Answerhi jennifer-
hmm, it's hard to say what this could be but if it's getting MORE painful I'd highly suggest seeing someone about it.
From your description it sounds like a swollen disc that's being compressed enough to cause pain when the vertebrae around it come closer together. An MRI or maybe just an xray should be abe to tell you this for sure. If this is the case, you might try (actually they wouldn't hurt to take now either) taking ibuprofen or another NSAID. They can also do steroid injections into the location, if the disc diagnosis is proven correct.
Hope this helps some, and good luck-
