QuestionWhile on vacation I recently suffered a tearing of the soft tissue ın my cervical spinal cord somewhere between sections c2 and c4 during a diving accident. When my head hit the ground, I became paralyzed, but after a minute of floating I slowly regained muscle function and managed to swim to safety. I wanted to know why I was temporarily paralyzed and any other information anyone has about this type of accident
Answerhi edin
wow- i can tell you why you became paralyzed but the temporary part is hard.. i'd say you just came very very close to what happens to alot of divers who go into too shallow water. quadreplegia.
perhaps the cord was only caught for a second and then you regained function enough to swim? It is almost impossible for me to say without more information
if anyone has similar experiences though they can add to the answer
good luck
and congratulations!
