QuestionMy fiance was in a swimming accident and had a C2 fracture 3wks ago. The doctors had to do a trac and they fused his neck stating that he totally crushed the C2vertabre. My fiancee is moving his hands and he is walking with help from others. According to what I have been reading on this, many people are paralized, can you offer any sound reason as to why he is recovering so well. I am very excited he can walk and he is doing great, I just want to know what to expect in the following weeks to come. Thanks Michelle
Answerhi michelle
i am glad he is doing well.
the trick is that he didn't injure his spinal cord. you can break- even crush- the vertebrae and still recover just fine. but if you screw up the cord- paralysis.
many diving accidents do injure the cord- happily, your fiancee has not.
good luck
