QuestionHi,
Had fusion of c3/c4 to stabilize my neck in Nov 2008. Although the major symptoms (spasms) have been relived my arms and legs are still weak and numb. In addition I'm always tired (exhausted and can ambulate only short distances (1/8 mile)at a time before resting. The headaches are frequent and dibiliting occurring two to three times a week. I haven't been able to work since September of 2008 and am attempting to get SSDI but have been initially denied. My Dr said the surgery was to stabilize the situation but that they couldn't repair the damage caused by the disk impinging the spinal cord. Social Security says the surgery was a success therefore I'll be better in a year Nov 2010. Will my condition improve, or is my Surgeon correct?
AnswerHi John, I would tend to believe your doctor, but you might want a second opinion. I do not know where you live, but I do know a doctor in Milwaukee, Wisconsin who has a great reputation. His information is below. As for Social Security goes, are they MD's? I didn't think so. I would consult a lawyer with knowledge in Social Security rules. I hope this helps. Take care, Ken
