MY MOTHER IS SUFFERING FROM PARAPARESIS BOTH LOWER LIMB Gr. POWER 1/5 FOR LAST 25 DAYS (LUMBER CANAL STENOSIS WITH L4-5 DISC PROLAPSE) AND REQUIRES URGENT SURGICAL INTERVENTION AS PER THE NEURO-SURGEON. I AM NOT IN FAVOUR OF THE SAME AS MY MOTHER IS OF 80 YEARS OF AGE. SHE IS A PATIENT OF CORONARY THROMBOSIS AS WELL AS DIABETIC AND SUFFERING FROM OSTEOPOROSIS FOR PAST FIVE YEARS SHE IS FACING THIS PROBLEM SINCE PAST ONE MONTH. HOW CAN ANYONE HELP ME THROUGH MEDICINES.

I am so sorry that your mother has so much to deal with. When I answer these questions I put myself in your/your mothers place. So if it were my mother I would first ask whether the osteoporosis could have caused the L4-5 Disc prolapse? If he says yes, what's to prevent your mom from having this occur again? And with respect to this surgery, what is the success rate for a person in your mothers condition? And most importantly, what is the chance your mother will not make it through the surgery? After receiving these answers decide whether it is worth the risk of having the surgery? And if your mother's doctor is not helping you, ask for a second opinion.
