Tightness in throat and center of head
9/26 9:31:00

Question
I have what seems to be chronic tension (not necessarily pain)which causes extreme tightness in my throat, almost as if my adam's apple was too tight or out of place. The tightness is also felt as a gripping, squeezing, locked-up sensation deep inside my head. I've had this for about 4 years. It feels almost as if something needs to be popped back into place and there would be immediate relief, like a dislocated joint. I've been through the whole medical, psychological route (pills and bills). Do you know of any techniques for releasing this tension which really focuses on the throat and center of head? (Have you ever heard of this kind of thing before?) Thank you in advance for your time.

Answer
Jeff,

Sounds like you have contracted neck and throat muscles and possibly tight jaw muscles.

An examination would quickly tell.

Yes, there are procedures for correcting this type of problem.  They involve training the involved muscles to be able to relax and be responsive.
