I was able to find Tien Chi near me on Main St. in Alhambra, but not with the emergency- (red?) pill.  Just to be clear, you think these shops will have the red pill?

My herbalist in chicago says it somes with the regular Tien Chi but in a separate little box?

ALso, do you know if such shops are open nights (such as tonight) or weekends?

Hi June,

You can find the Tien Chi pill available in China Town (Downtown Los Angeles).  Walk along Broadway between College and Alpine street.  There are plenty of Chinese herbal shops that carry the item.  Some will be able to speak English if you don't speak Chinese.

Direction:  From Alhambra take the 10 west freeway and exit Vignes Street.  Stay on Vignes as it curves and loops about until you see Broadway which is between Alameda and Hills street.  Parking is tough on the weekend but weekdays should be less of a challenge.

I believe you can also find it in Monterey Park in most herbal shops.  From my experience, you must be able to speak Chinese in order to communicate with the patrons.  I usually see herbal shops on Garvey Avenue between Garfield Avenue and Alhambra Street or on Valley Blvd. between Atlantic and Garfield.  Walk or drive along these sections and you should be able to spot some herbal shops.

The places I suggested are the best place to find the Tien Chi pills.  Some shops may carry what you are looking for and some may not.  Just shop around.

As far I know, the shops do not open late.  They usually close at 6pm.  They do operate on weekend.
