Question
I have sciatica back pain and have had chronic lower back pain since 1986... I have been taking approx 1-2 800mg of ibuprofen for my sciatica pain since July of this year.. I previouly was taking 9 advil a day for periodic pain..
Can I continue to take the 800mg of ibuprofen once or twice a day for the next 6 months without worrying that the dosage is excessive?

Hi Lynne and thanks for writing,

Yes, you can safely take 400 mg every 4 to 6 hours as necessary for relief of pain. Do not exceed 3200 mg total daily dose. If gastrointestinal complaints occur, administer MOTRIN tablets with meals or milk.
