Dear Doctor,
My sister is 54 years old and in DEC 2006 was prescribed   Ramipril  for high bloodpressure because he claimed she was symptomatic, before taking this medication she suffered from and odd aches in her body the normal aging proccess but was energetic and very sociable , after consuming Ramiril within days of digesting this med she started to become agitated, noticed a weaknesss in her muscles as welll as a tormenting uncomfortable burning pain in her muscles, her spine  followed by a tight restricted muscle sensation, also a burning stomache sensation which cause her to lose her appetite  and an exhaustion that  left her bed bound  ,her family also noticed a change in her . She decided to continue taking this med but the pain became intolerable, she also suffered from heat intolerance that  was so unusual for her because she always worked in direct sunlight and exposure to heat with no discomfort She was then taken off these tablets which caused her to only be able to sleep for approx two hours  per night and could noit nap or sleep at all at other times  and is now taking mINAX 50, HER NEUROPATHIC LIKE PAIN  is still there  but now she suffers also with extreme pain in the muscles  of her legs and feet  and her feet have actually gone numb at times  BUT NOW SHE ALSO SUFFERS FROM  cold extremities and raunaud like symptoms, agitation and in my opinion adrenaline surges with saturated norapinephrine flowing through her blood which is causing the depleted energy, She is staying here with me for a few more days and i desperately need some answers   and explanation as to what exactly could be happening to my sisters nervous system and what can we do to alleviate these horrid symptoms, she cannot relax and does not sleep much because of this emotional rollercoatser ride these tablets are putting her through,
My sister is of sound mind and i can assure you has no mental health problem other than anxiety caused by a medication that DOctors  saw fit to put her on which has caused her to suffer  4months of pure helll and has been through numerous tests  trying to find the source of the pain and exhaustion she was/is suffering from , alll results from these tests came back normal,

Dear Helen,

I am very sorry to hear the suffer your sister is going through.  What you described sounds quite complicated.  But without examining her it is hard to pin point the root of her symptoms.  However, I can give some suggestions but they are not definite.  She may have some hormonal response to the medication as it caused the onset of her symptoms.  Other syptoms such as intolerable to heat, numbness of the legs and cold sensation of the extremities may be caused by circulation hindrance or yang deficiency (this is an acupuncture term).  I do recommend for your sister to visit an acupuncturist who may be able to manage her condition.
