Question
Well im 14 years old, active like any teen, but i've been getting shoulder pains.  Each morning in school we would get up for the national anthem and with my arms on my side i would get pain radiation from my shoulder blade to my neck.  Whats going on?

Also i've been getting back pains.  I play bass guitar in our school band and when i play the bass while standing up just for 5 minutes my back will start to get hurting.  And then in class while sitting on my desk i would get this pain again.  This pain is on my lower right side.  What could it be?

Ok, i also have been getting chest pains.  For about a year or two i've been getting heart burn.  My family doctor put me on raniditine witch is a acid blocker.  Now this wasent realy helping allot so i went to see a specialiste for the digestive system.  One week after that go set me up with a upper endoscopy.  They looked at my esophagus, duodenum.  From the looks of it they said it might be esophagitis.  They put me a on stronger acid blocker called prevacid 30 mg.  I feel better but i got this chest pain.  The pain radiates under my heart around that area.  Also while taking deep breaths or running i get pain while breathing.  Sometimes this chest pain hurts so much its unbearable.  On a scale to 1/10 i'd give it a good 8 or 8 1/2.  Sometimes i think im having a heart attack.  To releave the pain i pop a couple od asprines but the pain dosent completly go away.  What is going on?

P.S: My fathers side has cardiovascular problem, actualy in 2003 my father got a heart attack.

I weight 160 - 165 lbs, and mesuring at 6 feet.

Here a the medication that i take regularly:
- Prevacid (30 mg) one in the morning before breakfast, and one in the afternoon before supper.
- Concerta (36 mg) one in the morning

Thank you for your time.

Answer
Hi Philippe,
I found your question in our question pool and thought I might be able to help.
First off I want to say NOT to take any more ASPIRIN! Especially if you have any kind of fever at all. People under 18-20 years old are at high risk of developing Rise syndrome from taking aspirin during a fever so it is best not to take aspirin at all. Take Tylenol or Motrin instead. Also aspirin is hard on the stomach under the best of conditions and that wont help your heart burn. Ask your doctor if it is possible you have a hiatal hernia, that could be the cause of the heart burn and chest pains.
Have you talked to your doctor about your shoulder pain? It could be some kind of muscle strain. If your family doctor cannot find the problem you may need to see a specialist such as a neurologist or orthopedic. It may be that you will need some type of physical therapy to fix the problem.
I hope this helps. If you have any questions or need additional information please don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks
Tracy
