QuestionHey there! My husband has had a wierd thing happen a couple times in the past few months and I was wondering if you could suggest what it could be. After a long day at work... which requires staring at a computer screen about 80% of the day... he will be walking home and get a really bad headache behind one eye. He said that it hurts really bad just for a little while and then go away... but it causes a "dead spot" in his one eye. He said it lasts for about a half hour to hour and then goes away. I think he needs glasses and may be straining the muscles in his eyes... because he doesnt have glasses. What do you think it could be? Oh and he is 23 years old.
AnswerHi Annie and thanks for writing,
I think his eyes are definitely suffering the effects of too many hours viewing bright computer screens (personally I think in a few years we抣l all find out just how hazardous this really is for our health).
I suggest the first thing to do is for him to have his eyes examined by a Ophthalmologist and check for any damage and see if they recommend glasses to decrease the constant strain. I would also recommend he take breaks for a good 5-10 minutes every hour and relax his eyes and go to a darker room an maybe even close his eyes if possible. You might also want to get a Nikken Sleep Mask with magnets to help restore circulation and promote general eye health while he sleeps ?I have two and think they抮e awesome.
I hope this helped and I wish you both all the best,
All my best,
Margot
