QuestionEarlier to the fall i had pain on my right hand shoulder while lifting up my right arm at 120 degree. But i was able to manage by doing almost all the work in the same pain. I was under the opinion due to the sleep during night time on my right hand for a long time might have made numbness and caused pain. Around 15 days ago I was slipped from the ceramic floor and my right leg was completely stretched down and I supported my right hand by force on the ground. The next day I was unable to lift my right hand. I went and consulted an orthopedic doctor and he took xray and told that there is no fracture and it is only a muscle tear and i need to give a week rest for my right arm by placing it on a sling pouch. I gave a week rest for my right arm and again I had been to the same doctor for a check up. Even then the pain was little relieved and lifting my hand up was difficult and painful. The doctor told me to remove the sling pouch and to start doing a few exercise. Now I find very difficult to do exercise by having pain on the should.
Kindly help me out for a quick and proper method of healing, by any type of exercise or so. I am 49 years old.
Thanks and Regards,
Paulraj
AnswerDear Paulraj,
It sounds like and confirmed by your doctor that you have suffered a shoulder injury. Having been this long and your condition has not improved, I might assumed you have also injured the ligament and perhaps the capsule around the shoulder joint. When these are not healed or properly treated, your body will create scar tissue and the muscles around the shoulder will not work properly.
Doing exercises on your own might do more worse than help. My suggestion is to visit a chiropractic office and have the shoulder re-examined. You may get proper treatment from the chiropractor once the diagnosis is properly made.
