QuestionMy daughter has Fibromyalgia. She is on Lyrica. It is 100 mg morning and night. We have figured out that it helps the pain more if she takes it at least an hour or so before her other meds.
Well, anyway, she's been really dizzy. We've been to an ENT and waiting to see a neurologist.
We are wondering if the Lyrica could be causing the dizziness.
The dizziness seems to get worse in warm weather. She recently went to camp and with all the cold weather and the camp being right on the lake, she said she was hardly dizzy at all.
Now I'm wondering if the dizziness were because of the Lyrica, would it be getting better in the cold and worse in the warm weather? Can a medicine do that to you?
If it were the medicine, wouldn't it be a constant dizziness or not?
She did have an ear infection a approx a month or so before the dizziness began.
AnswerHi Joyce,
Obviously many meds can cause dizziness, I抳e never heard of location changing the side-effect. From what you抳e described I抦 leaning towards the ear being the issue ?pressure from the infection could certainly effect stability and lead to dizziness and perhaps the cooler weather or some other change like humidity or barometric pressure could also effect the inner ear.
Wishing you both all the best,
Margot
