Hi Louis,

I'm not aware of any organizations other than the VA that give any grants for equipment or transportation.

My suggestion to you is to contact your county Social Services Dept. and Social Security.

If you qualify, you may be able to get Medicare and Medicaid. You might be eligible for transportation and equipment provided your doctor gives you a prescription for the equipment.

Applying for Medicaid is a real pain in the Butt. But, again, if you qualify, it is well worth the time and effort.

All of my DME equipment has been given to me paid for by Medicare & Medicaid.

You need to do a little research starting with your own county. Even if you're not a senior, it is also worth speaking to your local Office for the Aging. They should be able to provide you with a lot of information on the programs that are available to you in your state and county.
