QuestionQUESTION: Hi. I'm 42 and have recently been diagnosed with EDS. What a relief to finally know what all my problems stem from; however, my GP, although aware of the syndrome, does not have any extensive knowledge in the area. He was not the one who diagnosed me; he sent me to a rheumatologist thinking I might have an auto-immune disorder. Anyway, I saw a woman posted a similar Q re: an EDS dr. in the Phoenix area back in 2009. You mentioned you had a friend in Phx who was out of town, but you thought she liked a Dr. Marsh. You said you'd get back with the name of the dr. after your friend got back. Anyway, I didn't see your follow-up answer, so I am asking the same question. Sorry to duplicate. Thank you in advance, and thank you so much for providing this service!
ANSWER: Shannon,
Here is the contact info for Dr. Marsh - 480-585-5325. Mention a referral from Chris Phillips when making an appointment.

QUESTION: I just called Dr. Marsh' office, and I just wanted to make you and others in the Phoenix area aware that Dr. Marsh is a GP with no special knowledge or expertise in EDS. When, and if, I find an EDS dr. in the Phx area, I will repost, so you have this info. Thank you!
AnswerThe problem with EDS is that there aren't really many "experts" or specialists in EDS. There are a few, but you have to deal with long waiting lists for appointments and travel across country to see them. Your best bet is usually to find a doctor who is willing to learn and listen or, if you are lucky, someone who has had a patient or two with EDS to learn from before.
