QuestionDear Marg,
I have a hard time walking down the stairs and curb. I didnt have this before until I was 8-9. I cant even tell you how much I try to let go of the railing and my feet not moving to walk down the stairs. It is impossible for me. Its like my feet dont want to respond. When I walk my feet turn in there for I have flat feet. I seen people over weight walking down the stairs just fine. I dont know what this is. My body just stalls and I have to take like ten mins just to figure out how I am going to get off a stair or a curb. People look at me and its embarressing. I see other people going down the stairs like nothing and for me its the hardest thing to do. I want to know are there places that help this problem? Is it a problem? Is it a disablity?
And I also have a thing with heights I cant even jump off a side of a pool I just back off. I dont know what to do any more. I am 25 years old. I am too young to be acting like if my body is old. Its young inside just when I walk down the stairs you can tell I struggle. My mom and dad feels bad and doesnt know what to do.
AnswerHi Jaqueline,
You really need to be examined by a doctor, and maybe even a Neurologist. It sounds to me like a neurological issue which may respond t simple treatment, or may indicate an underlying disease which may require medication - either way, you need to go find out what is going on before it gets worse.
Wishing you all the best,
Margot
