QuestionQUESTION: Dear Sir:
My problem is not really related to a disability, but I could not find the exact category wherein to ask my question, so I chose this category.
Maybe you could be so kind and refer my question to the relevant colleague, in case this is outside your expertise.
My problem is the following:
I am a senior US citizen. I lent a person a rather high amount of money and this person promised, I have a promissory note, to pay me back latest December 2011. Till now he could not comply.
Since my monthly income is at the poverty line I am now brought into the situation that I have to apply myself for SNAP and medicaid.
According to the low income and assets limits I am qualified to receive SNAP and medicaid.
I did not "give my money away," I "lent" it with the promise to be repaid, sooner or later.
Am I qualified to receive SNAP and medicaid?
Looking forward to your kind reply and thanks for your time!
TIA, X"
ANSWER: Good question, but may be more suited for someone better versed in medicaid rules.
What town/state do you live in? I could try to get you a resource.
