Question
Dr.Mark Burnham, I am a sophomore at New York University and have recently become interested in the chiropractic field. I live north of the city in Westchester, NY.  I was wondering what you would recommend as resources and any other ways to gain a better understanding of the chiropractic field to solidify my decision in applying to chiropractic college in the next couple of years.  Would you expect private chiropracters in my area to accept me as an intern during the summer to get a better grasp of the profession, and is that the best path to take? Also, do you believe it is detrimental to be a history major, if i intend to be a biology minor also? Do you have any recommendations for specific chiropractic colleges?

Answer
i recommend you seek out and read some of the volumes written by dr. b.j. palmer, d.c. to find out what chiropractic is really about. life or sherman colleges may be ( i hope) good institutions for receiving a chiropractic education these days generally, however, much of what you need to know it seems must be acquired independently.much of what is called chiropractic is not. the truth, like a diamond in a pile of coal, must be sought out by someone who first believes it exists, and secondly is prepared to look and learn.
